Whole life carbon assessment for the Cook Street development
Detailing the carbon emissions
We completed and presented a whole life carbon assessment for the Cook Street development in Tradeston, supporting the discharge of planning conditions ahead of construction.
Our study quantifies both embodied carbon from construction and operational carbon from energy and water use spanning a 60-year timeframe. The design – primarily timber construction with electric heating and heat recovery – achieves net zero energy standards.
Through quantifying embodied and operational carbon over a 60-year period, the study provided a clear evidence base for planning approval and helped validate a low-carbon design approach that minimises waste and supports net zero objectives.
Outcome
Through quantifying embodied and operational carbon over a 60-year period, the study provided a clear evidence base for planning approval and helped validate a low-carbon design approach that minimises waste and supports net zero objectives.
